How Does It Work?

Students work in separate teams to conduct user research, re-design navigation and organization systems, and design new website concepts for both desktop and mobile devices.

Project Duration: Full semester (15 weeks)
Availability: Fall and Spring
Ideal For: Organizations at the early stages of a website re-design process, especially if they are interested in improving their website’s navigation and organization.
What You Get: A set of 3-4 website prototype concepts with related documentation.

Project Process

User Research

Identify the primary user groups and use research methods to identify insights into users’ needs, behaviors, and abilities.

Card Sorting & Tree Testing

Create a new information architecture based on research into users’ mental models and navigation behaviors.

Prototyping

Prototype new website concepts, informed by an iterative process involving wireframing and lightweight user testing.
