The Monterey Bay Aquarium is an educational and environmental institution whose self-started mission is to “inspire conservation of the ocean.” Alongside educational tools for the students and teachers, the Aquarium website also offers live video feeds of various species that call the Aquarium home. These live-cams are accessible and free to people all around the world, offering entertainment and education to those who would ordinarily be unable to access the Aquarium’s facilities. In this project, we used Google Analytics, SiteImprove, and Google Data Studio to better understand the Aquarium’s live-cam viewers and find ways to get more viewers to subscribe to email newsletters.
