Usability Testing

How Does It Work?

Students work in small teams to plan and conduct a moderated usability study of your product. The study will be primarily qualitative in nature and will involve 6-8 participants representing your target audience.

Project Duration: Half semester (7-8 weeks)
Availability: Fall and Spring
Ideal For: Organizations who already have a stable product, want to know how users interact with it, and are able to make small to moderate improvements.
What You Get: A formal usability evaluation report along with design recommendations.

Project Process

Stakeholder Interview

Interview client stakeholder(s) to understand organizational needs/goals and identify target audiences.

Recruitment & Study Design

Craft a strategy to recruit a representative participant sample and design the study procedure to meet client’s goals.

Data Collection & Analysis

Conduct 6-8 moderated user testing sessions (in-person or virtual) using ‘think aloud’ protocol.
