Project Summary

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History website allows users to explore the global history of art through The Met’s collection. In this project, we wanted to understand how international users interact with the timeline website and how they use it for research. Our main goal was to create a better user experience to help users quickly locate information, modify confusing terminology, enabling them to discover new information, and migrate web traffic from the timeline to The Met’s main website.
