Project Summary

The New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) aims to enhance the economic lives of New Yorkers through an online portal for license registration, now ADA-approved. This project focused on improving the portal’s user experience to streamline license preparation and completion. By identifying usability issues and opportunities, we developed recommendations to enhance discoverability and satisfaction. The findings were utilized by IT, Communications, Marketing, and the Deputy Commissioner to improve outreach and development. This effort supports DCWP’s objective to increase online license registrations, thereby reducing the time required for new and renewing licensees to obtain licenses.
